Jennifer Rumbell – Piano

Jennifer has been teaching piano for 10 years and has been with Browning Street Studios since 2015. In 2020, she received her PhD in musicology from The University of Queensland, and in 2014 she was awarded a BA in music with First Class Honours. She currently enjoys teaching several courses in music history and analysis at the tertiary level.

Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in both learning and teaching the AMEB and ANZCA syllabuses, and has successfully assisted students in preparing for exams from preliminary to grade 8. She is an experienced performer, having worked as an accompanist and played in the percussion section of the Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra.

First and foremost, Jennifer endeavours to foster a love of musical discovery within her students by encouraging them to play and listen to a broad range of music. She strives to assist them in unlocking their musical potential through combining equally important elements of correct technique, creativity, theory, and aural skills in addition to an appreciation for knowledge about style and genre from a historical perspective. With a particular interest in adult education, Jennifer firmly believes it is never too late to take up music.

Whether playing for fun, leisure and relaxation, or to prepare for exams and auditions, Jennifer is a dedicated, patient and encouraging teacher and would love to help you on the road to achieving your musical goals.

At the moment Jennifer has no availability for taking new students.
